IBM has announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire FilesX, a privately held storage software company based in Newton, Mass., and Haifa, Israel, that specializes in continuous data protection and nearly instant data and application recovery software for enterprises and remote/branch offices.
FileX is one of the myriad companies out there trying to make operating systems, their applications, and their data more resilient.
The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed because FileX is a privately held and relatively small.
